The industry magazine "Elektronik & Entwicklung" called on its readers to nominate the best products of the year. In the "Embedded Systems and Components" category, readers then voted on 50 new products submitted from October 2007 through September 2008.

Taskit won 3rd place in the "Embedded Systems and Components" category with its microcontroller module SAMDIP-7X.

The SAMDIP-7X boasts TDES and AES encryption systems. SAMDIP-7X stands out for its many interfaces, low power consumption and compact format of just 81.3 x 25.4 mm.

Effective immediately, the taskit Panel-Card is available with a transflective TFT display. In order to ensure optimal reading conditions under any lighting conditions, transflective displays both transmit and reflect light. Even under direct sunlight or in bright rooms, rich contrast is possible. The display's reflective properties enable it to operate without background lighting -- ideal for applications that may benefit from reduced electrical consumption. The Panel-Card's 3.5" TFT color display has a resolution of 240 x 320 pixels at 18-bit color depth.

From now on, the SAMDIP-7S will be equipped with a new connector, which brings the following advantages.

Advantages of the new connector:
- SAMDIP-7S can be connected more easily
- The pins are more sturdy
- The pin assignment remains unchanged
- SAMDIP-7S with the old connector can also be connected to the new mountings

Disadvantages of the new connector:
- the new plugs are incompatible to the old socket

The new pins measurements are 0.64 x 0.64 mm (+/- 0.05 mm) and are square. SAMDIP-7S continues to be available with the old connector, but will require a longer delivery time. Please make your needs known to us as early as possible. SAMDIP-7S is in stock with the new connector.

Going forward, the SAMDIP evaluation board will only be available with the new socket. We advise all customers to migrate to the new connector. We will be happy to answer any questions you may have.

Effective immediately, taskit offers the Panel-Card optional with a touch screen. We integrated this display into the Panel-Card to enable applications that require an easy and intuitive interface.

Operate machines and systems with a touch, increasing ease of use and decreasing learning times. Program your own interface texts to guide users through menus in order to reduce control errors to a minimum. Since the Panel-Card is designed for flexibility and can be used in various situations, display quality is important. The touch display with a maximum screen resolution of 320 x 240 pixels at 24-bit color depth ensures optimal display and readability for both texts and graphics.

This new kit supports development of embedded systems and mobile devices. On a card measuring just 53 x 38 x 4 mm, this postage-stamp sized CPU module combines an Atmel AT91SAM9261 micro-controller, 64 MB SDRAM and 64 MB Flash memory. The processor runs at 200+ MHz with low energy consumption. You can connect a wide variety of interfaces and peripherals to the 200 processor pins.

The Starter Kit Stamp9261 contains all hardware and software necessary for putting Stamp9261 to immediate use.
