taskit MicroPC
Overview
Summary
The MicroPC is currently the smallest DOS PC on the market.
- The CompactFlash-sized format makes the MicroPC ideally suited for applications with the smallest of space requirements.
- The housing offers ESD protection and simplifies exchange for maintenance purposes (e.g. for software updates or data protection).
- The MicroPC can be programmed like any other DOS PC. All compilers used on a normal PC (C, Pascal, Basic) are suitable. The debugging (with MS Codeview, Turbo Debugger, etc.) can be done to a large extent on the host PC, or with remote debuggers.

Simple connection to the PC
The connection to the host PC is made via the serial interface by means of a terminal program. The remote-drive driver makes access to the drive assemblies of the attached host PC, including network drive assemblies, possible. Data and programs can be copied onto the Flash disk simply with the DOS "copy" command.

It is simple to develop one's own peripherals for the MicroPC. For this purpose, various interfaces are available: TWI (I²C compatible), PIF bus, two asynchronous serial interfaces, a synchronous serial interface, as well as digital ports. Suggested implementations for digital I/O, AD/DA transducers, LCD and matrix keyboard are included in the starter kit.
A standard CompactFlash Type II socket or a double pin row with a 1.27mm pitch can be used as a socket for the MicroPC.
The MicroPC DOS-standard input and output is by means of the serial interface or - optionally - LCD and matrix keyboard. Alphanumeric LCDs with the Hitachi HD44780 controller or compatible, as well as matrix keyboards, are supported by the BIOS. Connecting graphic LCDs is also possible.
