Can be used just like any other PC
Since the drives of the host PC can be displayed on the Mini-PC, programs can be started remotely (e.g. in the test phase), before they are transferred to the Mini-PC (with Xmodem, Zmodem, or simply with a DOS copy command). They are started with a call to the .exe file by DOS command or through AUTOEXEC.BAT.
Flexibility through standard interfaces
Since each PC usually has a printer connection, the Mini-PC also possesses the standard appropriate parallel interface, in the interest of maximum flexibility.
With the use of an adapter for the parallel port (available from EMS Dr. Thomas Wuensche, for example), the Mini-PC can even be operated directly on a CAN bus.
Economy

Economy is ensured by specially-developed shutdown and start-up technology which enables user programs to switch off and completely re-awaken the computer again at a predefined time. Because of the light power load, maintenance cycles can be very long with network-independent installations. Thus the Mini-PC is particularly well-suited for data logging in places that remain unsupervised for long periods of time. The number of serial interfaces ensures that, if necessary, further equipment for reading the collected data can be easily connected.
Easy to program
A few lines of Basic suffice, for example, to regularly measure and save data (from a digital circuit analyzer or an entire digital weather-station) in the energy-saving mode until it needs to be retrieved for evaluation.
