Compact embedded PC
Stamp9261 is a universal embedded computer for measurement, control and regulation tasks. This CPU module combines an Atmel AT91SAM9261 microcontroller, SDRAM and Flash within an area of just 53 x 38 mm. All components are mounted on one side of a 1.2 mm flat circuit board, making Stamp9261 an excellent choice for embedded applications with minimal space capacity.
Wide range of interfaces

Stamp's abundance of processor pins enable connecting a very wide variety of peripherals. Stamp9261 supports all popular interfaces, such as USB 2.0, USART, SPI, TWI (I²C compatible), JTAG, 80 digital I/O ports, 32-bit Parallel Bus and with the StampAdaptor also Ethernet. An SD/MMC and Smart card slot also makes it easy to receive and save data.
Industrial Hirose FX8 connector
Signals are transmitted to the peripherals via two 100-pin Hirose FX8 connectors. This technology has been standard in ETX and XTX boards for a long time. Hirose FX8 connectors have a long track record in industrial settings; they very effectively withstand vibrations and bumps.
Energy-saving ARM technology
The integrated AT91SAM9261 controller is equipped with a fast 200 MHz ARM926EJ-S processor core. ARM processors are famous for their energy-saving operation and are particularly appropriate for use in mobile devices. Another advantage is their longterm availability; they have been licensed by the original microprocessor manufacturers.
An LCD/TFT controller is already integrated into the AT91SAM9261. It offers a resolution of up to 2048 x 2048 pixels at 24-bit color depth.
OS Linux or Windows Embedded CE

The Linux open-source operating system and U-Boot boot loader are both pre-installed on Stamp9261. The function-rich boot loader U-Boot loads the Linux kernel and starts the operating system. Because of its open source code, Linux is a very well-documented operating system. Since many solutions can be found in the Internet, it is also appropriate for developers who have never worked with Linux before. As an alternative to Linux, Windows Embedded CE is optionally available.
Energy-saving operation
Standby and power-down modes allow for energy saving deployment of Stamp9261 in permanent operation. The extensive power management functions can be programmed by the user to switch Stamp9261 into the appropriate mode to lower energy consumption.
Comprehensive starter kit
The Stamp9261 Starter Kit contains -- in addition to Stamp9261 -- an adapter (StampAdaptor) compatible with the Panel-Card Base evaluation board. The evaluation board eases development in an application-specific environment, since it has many interfaces and peripheral devices. All necessary cables, power supply and a software CD (with Linux, U-Boot, compiled tool chain, etc.) are included in the starter kit.
