400 MHz ARM9 CPU module
The Stamp9G20 is a small and compact CPU module. All components, such as the processor or the memory unit, are integrated onto a board measuring just 53 x 38 x 6 mm. It was conceived for industrial applications and is well-suited as a basis for developing mobile devices and embedded computing solutions. Typical application domains for the Stamp9G20 include, for example, data logging, log conversion or measurement systems of all types.
Broad-reaching connectivity possibilities and high memory capacity
The Atmel® AT91SAM9G20 controller supports many standard interfaces and peripheral devices. The 200 processor pins give the user direct access to these. Supported interfaces and peripheral devices include Ethernet, USB (host & device), USART, 16-bit parallel bus, JTAG, SSC, SPI, TWI (I²C compatible) plus up to 80 digital I/O ports. An integrated Micro SD card slot and 128 MB NAND Flash are available for data collection and storage.
Industrial connector technology
The Stamp9G20 is connected to a carrier board by means of two 100-pin Hirose FX-8 connectors. This technology ensures the greatest dependability when connecting two parallel circuit boards in a small space. The plugs are very stabile and endure virbrations and jolts without problems. For these reasons, this technology has been used in industrial applications for a long time.
Modern ARM9 technology
The AT91SAM9G20 boasts a powerful ARM926EJ-S processor core and operates with a frequency of 400 MHz. ARM processors boast energy-saving operation while offering very good processing power. Their minimal power consumption predestines them for use in mobile devices. ARM processors offer long-term availability since they are licensed by most microprocessor manufacturers.
Energy-saving operation
Thanks to extensive power-management features, the Stamp9G20 is effective when operated continuously. Power consumption can be customized in idle or power-down mode. If some interfaces or peripheral devices are not used, these can also be turned off manually to save energy.
Operating system: Linux or Windows

Stamp9G20 comes with the Linux open-source operating system and the U-Boot boot loader pre-installed. Linux offers all the functionalities of a modern operating system. Multitasking, virtual memory management and dynamically loaded libraries make Linux ideal for many fields of application. Because of its open source code, Linux is well-documented. A variety of programs and tools are available for free in the Internet. Additionally, the OS core can be customized anytime to meet your individual needs. As an alternative to Linux, Windows Embedded CE is optionally available.
The Stamp9G20 can be programmed with the standard GNU tools included in the package. These standard GNU tools include, among others, the GNU Compiler Collection and the GNU Debugger GDB.
