MoTerm
MoTerm is a handheld terminal in the same robust housing as MoDOS, well-suited as a control terminal for machines, as a configuration device for control stations, or as a display unit.

The heart of this ANSI-compatible terminal is an 8051-compatible CPU core. MoTerm is primarily designed for classic terminal tasks, and is thus programmable only to a limited extent. However, you can also implement simple data-logging applications with MoTerm — as just one example.
For more complex programming capability, consider the MoDOS handheld computer.
MoTerm is equipped with a universal terminal program and interprets ANSI sequences as commands. This function enables clearing the LCD or positioning the cursor, for example.
The serial interface transfers MoTerm keyboard input to a connected computer, or — in the other direction — transfers external data to the MoTerm display. The supported ANSI sequences correspond for the most part to the functions of MS-DOS ANSI.SYS drivers.
Interfaces
MoTerm is standardly equipped with a RS232 interface and powered with a current of 5 - 25 V or four Mignon batteries.
Of particular interest are MoTerm's internal expansion capabilities. According to your custom requirements, you can integrate additional interfaces or compoenents inside the MoTerm housing, such as RS485, IRDA (infrared) or DECT (wireless).
Potential usage
Suitable implementation areas for MoTerm are whereever an existing computer or machine should be equipped with a mobile operating device:
- as a control terminal for machines
- for configuration of control equipment
- as a display unit for measuring devices
